Kaveh feels his eyes water, tears rolling down his flushed face. Again, he tries to pull away, only to be pushed further down the stairs. Azar scolds him, tugging on his hair and clicking his tongue. “None of that, My Prince. They paid good money for you, and I will not disappoint.” He pats Kaveh’s shoulders, opening the door and leading him to a group of sketchy men waiting. “After all, you wanted to help the Akademiya with funding, yes? Think of this as helping your nation.”
Kaveh makes a grave mistake, telling Al-Haitham to wait for him outside the door. Azar takes advantage of that.
