Bucky had known that all along, and he was pleased that even seventy years later, the whole world was finally beginning to get to know his Steve. And Steve’s mind was something special too. He was one of the greatest tacticians the world had ever seen. Any situation, any enemy, any impossible scenario you could throw at him, Steve would bull right through it. Put him up against any great leader of the past, and Bucky would place his bets on Steve every time.
He had, in fact. Bucky’d bet his life on Steve, every time they’d waltzed into battle.
The thing was, Steve’s tactical mind was a thing of beauty, a rare gem in a world of mediocrity, something that barely came along once every few generations.
But when it came to matters of the heart and soul? Steve Rogers was kind of a dumbass.
But for the first time, Bucky had time to deal with Steve’s temper his way.

Summary
James "Bucky" Barnes was Steve Roger's best friend, watching him fall in to his death was enough to break Steve. Steve placed that plane in the water in hopes that he would not survive, when he woke up to find out that he had jumped into the future, he could not imagine a worse fate. However, when he discovered that his best friend has been alive this whole time, but forced to do Hydra's biding, Steve realized he had the better situation. Determined to be strong for Bucky, he hid what was happening in his brain. Bucky, on the other hand, was beyond grateful for everything that Steve and the Avengers were doing for him, but he knew that Steve was not okay. He just need to see that it was okay for him to ask for help too.

HYDRA didn't create only one magic-user while in possession of Loki's scepter. There's another, and his powers are... a little different from Wanda's. The Avengers crew breaks into a HYDRA base to rescue Tony, who was kidnapped three weeks ago. Only, he isn't the way he was when he left them to go check out the place. Instead, he's now five and a half years old. And he's absolutely terrified of Steve. The Avengers do what they can to keep little-Tony happy until they can get Strange to come take a look at him, and (hopefully) change him back to his rightful age. It's not so easy dealing with a traumatized five-year-old, though, especially one who has some major attachment issues. Toward Bucky, of all people. Throw in some HYDRA shenanigans, and it makes for an interesting time, if not the most peaceful. Older-Tony isn't going to appreciate how much little-Tony blabs, either, but it's pretty hard to tell a five-year-old to shut up when no one wants to hurt his feelings...

Clint is a menace with a deck of cards and a popcorn bowl. Bruce is stressed. Thor is proudly in love. Nick Fury and Maria Hill are so done with all of them.There are movie nights, broken tv remotes, and shared breakfasts.
There are tabloid drama mags, invasive journalists, and talk-show ghouls.
There are sleepless nights between Steve and Tony that feel far too intimate to be nothing, but far too vague to be anything more.There's also the monthly Doombot invasion that’s less a threat to Manhattan and more Doctor Doom’s ongoing attempt to court Tony Stark.
That is until Steve tells Doctor Doom that he and Tony are already married.
