Summary
Bobby opens the door and his jaw hits the floor as he comes face to face with Evan. Evan, his son, who was supposed to be safely tucked away in Hershey with his lovely sister and parents, the Buckleys. Evan, who looks like he hasn’t slept in days and is bearing the weight of the world on his small shoulders.
“So you know who I am,” the kid starts, his words drenched in bitterness. It breaks Bobby’s heart. This is his son. His son, who is glaring at him like he is the scum of the earth.
“Evan –” he starts, but the kid cuts him off.
“Look, I know you gave me up and didn’t want me, but you are my father. I hope you are not too much of an asshole to turn me away now. Please, may I come in? I will be out of your hair soon, I promise.”

Summary
Eddie recaps this in his head a couple more times and he’s — jealous. Fuck, he’s jealous. That’s the word for it, the heat coiling deep in his gut, his whole body wound like a spring about to snap.
Jealousy.
Which is a bizarre emotion to feel about your best friend sleeping with someone. Jealousy implies ownership, implies wanting, implies — implies that 1) Eddie is not straight, and 2) he is possibly in love with his best friend and maybe possibly wants to suck said best friend’s dick about it.
Alright — okay. Eddie feels like he needs to sit with that for a second, give it the space it deserves.
Eddie wants to suck a dick attached to a person who is a man.

And suddenly Buck is looking at him with his whole face open, chin slightly dipped, curls loose without the brim to redirect them, and the hat means something different backwards, it means something about the specific tilt of his jaw and the blue of his eyes, the reddish pink hue of his birthmark and the fact that he is looking at Eddie the way he always looks at Eddie, like Eddie is something he has decided to pay attention to above all other available options.
Eddie’s speech leaves his body entirely.
