“Why are you here,” he asked, feeling tired, angry, sad - so, so sad - with both hands in Elias’ hold. Elias held his hand once, after Prentiss; supportively. Is that what it is, Jon wondered, not especially invested in the thought - a path too dangerous, that is; missing the ignorance.
“I’m always here. That’s how - how did you put it - we grossly feel each other,” Elias smiled - and it was almost bland and normal, too. “You see me, though, because I thought you might need to.”

Jon bristled, his shoulders tightening. “I’m fine,” he snapped, though the dark circles under his eyes and the pallor of his skin told a different story. “I don’t need you to babysit me.”
“Babysit you?” Elias raised an eyebrow. “Is that what you think this is?”

“Did you—” Tim is interrupted by Jon discovering the spot under his jaw that makes his toes curl. In reaction he grips both of Jon’s thighs, pushing him harder against the wall. Higher, until Tim’s the one nuzzling the thin skin over an unsteady pulse. “Did you do something to me?” he finally pants out.
“What?” Jon asks like he’s forgotten English. He’s confused. And desperate. And so is Tim. But one of them has to be smart about this. Rational.

“‘Yes, well?’” Elias echoes back at him, sounding politely interested in that patronizing, I’m-your-patient-boss tone that’s proven a complete farce over and over again. As if there were anything proper about allowing an employee to climb into his lap.
“It’s… it’s your birthday.” Where should his hands go? Jon settles for bracing one beside Elias’s head, the other twisting Elias’s tie around his fingers, the red silk slipping like water between them until he has a good grip.
An eyebrow lifts. “So it is.”

It’s a matter of time. Before Elias gets angry again. Before he stops being sweet and touching him gently, before Jon is stuck cleaning his own blood off the floor again. Or maybe the lack of food will finally get him delicate and weak enough that Jon won’t be able to break any rules.
It’s all punishing, all meant to put Jon back where he belongs. And Jon has not resisted much, because he thinks that this is just probably what he–unpleasant, irritable, obsessive–has to do to be loved.
But the cost is so very steep.

“A crush–” Jon’s voice cracks a bit at the admission, “-- doesn’t just excuse murder.”
“I suppose it doesn’t,” Elias agrees, his voice playful as his thumb traces a soothing circle on Jon’s leg. “But could perhaps be useful in how I offer you to relax.”
Despite the fairly large drink of tea just moments earlier, Jon’s throat is dry. He doesn’t need knowledge from an evil entity to tell him what Elias is propositioning.
He swallows, looking back and forth from Elias’ hand to his intense grey eyes. A gaze that Jon’s heard others afraid to meet. A gaze that Jon often holds with ease during meetings. He feels a shiver run down his spine as soon as Elias’ hand boldly moves to squeeze properly around Jon’s thigh.
“What are–” Jon tries to summon the words. “What are you suggesting, Elias?”
“A simple arrangement,” Elias responds almost instantly, as if his mind had wondered to the thought ages ago. “I help you alleviate some of that stress. Provide some relief, as it were.”
“Relief?”
“I’m told I’m rather good with my mouth.”

[Taylor opened the paper envelop -revealing what seemed to be a long, hand-written document- and went through it as someone who knew its content by heart: “Amongst the more… bureaucratic details in his will, Mr. Magnus added a few personal ones of great relevance, and in particular he described at length the measures and procedures for his future burial. Those, and a comprehensive list of all the people invited to the function.”
The unequivocal look Taylor gave him only served to fuel Jonathan’s disbelief: “I apologize, sir, I must have misinterpreted your words: are you perchance saying that you have come all this way, from London, just to invite me to your Founder’s funeral?”
Taylor’s unnerving smile didn’t waver: “Of course not, that would have been incredibly ridiculous of me. I have come all this way, from London, to make sure you would come to our Founder’s funeral”]
Or: when one William Taylor, newly appointed Head of the Magnus Institute, knocks at Jonathan Fanshawe's door and invites him to Jonah Magnus' funeral, Jonathan thinks it could be a way to finally bring closure to a part of his life he has never really managed to leave behind. 'Jon?' Martin's voice manages to get through to Jon. He needs a second to realize Martin probably requires him to speak up.
'No,' he gets out through gritted teeth, though he himself is not sure who this 'no' is intended for. Martin? Elias? Him, telling himself not to let the desperation show?
'Oh, my. He didn't tell you, I take it?' Amused, Elias takes a step towards them. Here goes Jon's chance that Elias would spare him the humiliation of a forced coming out.
'Jon? What didn't you tell me?' Martin backs out, but stays before Jon, covering him from Elias with his own body. Yet Jon still feels stared at.
'Martin...' His voice breaks into a whine. He can't be sounding like that, he can't. Not here, not now. It would be better if it came from him rather than Elias, but he can't. He can't have Martin know that...
'He's going into heat.'

Inspired by 'Laid Bare' by outofsync and intended as a sort of sequel/exploration of the aftermath. I seriously recommend you read that one first (direct link in the fic notes).
Even though the physical effects of the Leitner have worn off, Jon is finding himself subject to near-constant sexual thoughts about his boss, who seems to be entirely uninterested, up until the point he isn't.
