Hell, it's before Twice even slipped up and told him where Shigaraki was and what he was doing.
It's in the past. Far in the past.
That doesn't make any sense.

I love the style, the story telling, and the whole vibe of this fantastic fic!
It is like a tropical summer night, humidity high and oppressing, yet so sweet and so familiar. -
Summary
A Radiostatic love story in three parts:
Part One: Memory Reboot - a one-shot set in the 70s; the moment Vox almost got what he wanted.
Part Two: Bluest Monday - a hazy, indulgent look back on the time that Alastor and Vox were briefly a couple in the year 1989, and how it ultimately ended in tears - with a few glimpses of the present, too.
Part Three: Say Hello, Wave Goodbye - a story set in the present day (post Season One) continuing the same timeline established in Bluest Monday. There may be hope for Vox and Alastor, yet... (This fic is technically discontinued, but has a fully summarised ending with closure.)

Summary
The truth is that crazy people come in all shapes and sizes, isn't that right? While one might hide behind a smile, others might allow anger to flourish through. The truth is that you never know what is truly festering inside someone until you take a closer look, and sometimes, you might regret even looking.
If control is what truly matters in hell, then keeping the appearance of control is obviously the thing that showcases the strongest. On one hand, Vox gives the appearance of having everything under control, it is his specialty and no one can deny him this except for one person. The one person that no matter what, he cannot manage to control.
Alastor just thinks Vox is pathetic.
Or a dive into Alastor's character and Vox trying to figure out what makes him tick and how he can exploit it.

"What's got you so happy?" Husk gruffly asked, going back to wiping down a glass as Alastor took a seat.
Alastor pretended to check his nails, the music on the radio growing louder in his excitement. "I was just relieved of a burden a bit ago." He cryptically replied, grinning. "A liquor, if you don't mind."
A sentence like that was typically a pretty good indicator that Husk did not want to know what had happened. He dragged his hand down his face and simply got to work.
He really did not want to know.

Alastor, Altruist, Died for his Friends. That was the headline. Vox made sure it was plastered all over Hell the moment he'd seen that demon flee for his life. After he remained missing, Vox accepted that he really was dead. Dead and gone. No rival. He and the Vees were now free to rule Hell as the Overlords they'd always dreamed of being, and the plans were finally in motion.
Then Vox went out for donuts, and everything came crashing down. Because Alastor wasn't dead.
He was barely alive.

He called it heartily, gleeful and maybe a touch maddened. Vox's head snapped up from where it had been buried in his phone. His expression turned from deep focus to immediate, blinding panic, more delicious than any sinner's flesh. Alastor bounded forward, grin splitting his face, eyes blinking and spinning into dials.
"Oh, shit. Cam hit the deck."
"How wonderful to see you, old pal!"
"Hit the deck, hit the fucking deck!"
Faster than any human could ever run, Alastor leapt a solid dozen feet and slammed his knee into the Television Overlord's chest, bowling him over and sending him flying down the street. His assistant was nowhere to be seen. Vox picked himself from the sidewalk and snarled at him, a sound like a magnet being run over a VHS tape while it was playing a documentary about heavy machinery. He curled his fingers into claws and zapped back up to him, a zig-zag pattern that made him impossible to see until he took a swipe right at the Radio Demon. His bowtie fluttered to the ground as Alastor snapped back a moment too late. He felt alive.

Enjoy your evening." Alastor spun on one foot and trotted off.

Alastor stopped five steps away. "What kind."

“Would you look at this masterpiece! The granddaddy of the greatest microphones in the world. That elegant, dramatic design—"
"Ohhh god," Vox groaned, spreading his knees wider. "I seriously underestimated how hot this was going to be."
Alastor raised his head from between Vox's thighs to glower.
"Well?" Vox smirked. "Go on. Call me ‘granddaddy’ again.”
"You're making it very hard to get into this."
"Do you know what you're making ‘very hard’—"
