Summary
Exhausted and broken by Sirius’s death, Harry gives up any reason to live. When the Order comes to get him, they are greeted by an empty, dull gaze. His friends, who had ignored him, suddenly start to worry, but nothing works, nothing makes him react – not even Malfoy’s jabs, who himself is worried about his lifelong rival. Harry swallowed, his throat dry. The thought of the piece of the Dark Lord’s soul that was completely fused with his own always left him feeling a little dizzy; he would never refer to being a Horcrux as a mistake. Especially when it was that ‘wrong’ soul that kept Voldemort alive. “Only that I succeeded, my Lord.”
