What exactly is the minimum amount of changes to the show's writing required to elevate the show to being decent, or possibly, a good show? This writing experiment aims to determine that. I have rewritten, added, or removed small parts of certain episodes in an attempt to make this show better, while avoiding having to reinvent the wheel.
Featuring: more Adrien appreciation in the writing, the Chloé redemption arc promised in season 2 continued into season 3 and beyond, Lila being slightly less infuriating, more consistent continuity for characters, better themes, and hopefully, decent payoff.

“Great!” Suddenly, paws on their back, and they almost topple out of their seat; Asriel is pushing them towards the counter. “Now go get us something!!”
He gives them one last shove despite their protests, and they unfortunately stumble right before the barista with the inklike, glazed eyes and that naive, curious look.

Summary
Ever since he ran away from home, since the death of the Red Queen (curse her name and may the Great Ones Above never grace her presence in Vanaheim), Hiccup has never killed. Even as he took up the (horribly named) mantle of The Dragon Master, he refused to end another life.
But no matter how hard one tries, there comes a point when a person is backed into a corner and that isn’t a choice to be made. When the difference between life- and therefore the life of His Other Half and his flock- or death is whether or not he can stand to kill, Hiccup is forced to end a life.
What he did not account for, in his careful, painstaking decision to take the life of a rogue hunter, was whether or not the boat was empty. No other hunters came for his throat when he landed, so he naturally assumed none were to be found.
But as Hiccup spots a pair of toxic green and icy blue eyes peering at him from the cabin, belonging to a too-small body, he realizes his mistake.

After being forced to kill a dragon hunter, for the very first time, Hiccup realizes that they had a child. Fuck.

Astrid was 10 years old when she first noticed him. Well noticed him in a different way, they had been friends for a while, but they were never really close. She never really had any ‘close’ friends. Especially after her uncle Finn died.
She wanted, no needed to avenge him. It was the least she could do for him and she didn’t think about anything else since the day of his funeral. She didn’t have time for friends or to grieve. The only thing that she had time for was to train, to eventually kill the flightmare and avenge her uncle Finn.
So why did it bother her so much to see that stupid Bog Burglar smile like that when talking to Hiccup?

He and Stoick grow apart more than they already have and the gang overlook him because he stops trying to help and in turn doesn't cause anymore issues around Berk. There will be a time skip of a few years, possible to when Stoick starts to train Hiccup to be Chief and everyone starts to recognize that he is actually very smart and works really hard in the Forge.
