But the door had never opened.
Wei Wuxian’s fingers had curled into the silk sheets, the soft fabric wrinkling beneath his touch. He had listened. Every creak of the palace walls, every distant footstep, his heart had leapt. But it had never been Lan Wangji.
He had waited until the candles had burned to their bases.
Then he had waited longer.
By the time the first pale light of dawn had filtered through the embroidered curtains, it had been clear. Lan Wangji would not come.
Or: prince consort wei wuxian in a loveless marriage suddenly finds his husband, the emperor lan wangji loving him.

"Oi. What's wrong with him?"
Law didn't answer. He moved his hand, shrinking the Room to only encompass Luffy's abdomen. He wasn't sure what his face was doing, but probably nothing good as Luffy leaned closer and blinked at him.
"Torao?"
"There's a second set of vitals."
Perhaps he should have been more explicit, but he wasn't sure if he was going to scream or just chalk this off as another Strawhat bullshit.
"What do you mean, a second set of vitals?" Kidd asked, coming even closer.
Law still hadn't looked away from the Scan."I mean that when I scan Luffy-ya, I am picking up a secondary set of vital signs that are not his. In a place where they should not be." His last words probably echoed a bit strangled, but he didn't care.
Luffy blinked. Looked down at his stomach. Looked back up at Law. And grinned, that large, wide smile of his that Law usually loved but now just made him want to scream. And something else. Something he wasn't sure if it was fleeing in terror or falling to his knees in thanks to gods he no longer believed in.
"Oh! Like a baby?"

Sengoku had forgotten Garp's words throughout the years; they'd been new cadets, roommates, drunk off their first succesful mission and not only that. Sengoku had said something, slurred it more like and had moved to make a promise. To always have Garp's back in missions perhaps, or something similar. He didn't get to finish his words; Garp had stopped him mid-way and with more seriousness than he had ever before and after showed, demanded in no uncertain terms that Sengoku should never promise him anything.
"D promises are different. You don't wanna go make one randomly. And never to me, got it?"
Promises to the bearers of the Will of D are binding even beyond Death. Garp still makes one.

It was impossible. It should have been impossible unless Dragon was not only a shitty father but also had shitty tastes in women, but the body curled around him, rumbling in something that was half caught between a growl and a purr, felt too much like Luffy for Ace to be able to deny what has happening in front of his own eyes.
"Lu'?"
The dragon, because it was a dragon no matter how much Ace wanted to say it wasn't, rumbled back at him and yeah that was his little brother. His little brother who was a dragon.
Don't think of the implications Ace.
Who no one could try to kill now because everyone knew what it meant when someone had a dragon shift.
Anyone but Luffy probably.
"GARP!" echoed from somewhere and on this Ace at least could agree with that bastard fleet admiral. If Gramps knew about this he was going to punch him straight in the face.
