Summary
Jason had been planning to do a lot of things that night. Babysitting Damian was not one of them. Neither was taking on a whole gang, or finding himself being carried back to safety by Damian. Most of all he hadn't been planning on re-evaluating...well everything.

What happens when Jason's brothers want to know why he's upset with the JLA? Jason's explanation of his side of the story, along with ways the hero community as a whole could make simple changes to protect their kids, might just change everything.

Incredibly fanon in characterization and tone, but sweet and satisfying

Summary
Jason sleeps in the suit some nights, in the stench of his father's shroud, like it's a sacred space they share that no one else can touch, and Sheila has to wonder if he hates her. A long time ago, when it came down to it, Jason chose her. And even though he's still with her now, she wonders if he regrets it. If he misses the warmth of his father's hand on his shoulder, if wearing the suit replicates the feeling. Maybe on his best day, even Willis would've been a better substitute.
Well, I'm all you've got, she wants to hiss. But Jason didn't say anything. He never does.

Summary
Jason slings himself over the railing—just to prove that he still can—and heads down the fire exit, taking two stairs at a time despite himself. It's a quick walk down to the bend, but he finds himself breathless anyway, the warm summer air choking him with a sweaty kind of anticipation. A part of him wishes he had changed before coming down. He's in an old band T-shirt that doesn't bode well with the impression he's trying to make. But delaying his descent would've almost certainly driven his visitor away, and Jason wants that even less than he wants to make a bad impression.
He opens the door and slides in.
"Jason," says Batman, like he wasn't expecting him. Like he hadn't been beaming Morse code into the dust motes like the theatrical vampire that he is.

Summary
Jason stares down at his script, feeling nothing.
“All I’m asking,” says TRAGEDY, “is for you to be yourself, Jason. Jason Todd has one job, and that’s playing Jason Todd.”
“Lucky for me, I’m a man of a thousand faces,” he grits out.
“And there’s nothing any of them can do to save him. Any story about you surviving is inevitably a story about Jason Todd’s death.”
