The omega met the wind hashira when he was in Tanjirou's village and ended up saving his entire family from a demon. They had a couple of arguments at first because the alpha was very rude to everyone, but after the redhead headbutted him, his demeanor completely changed.

He hasn't stopped crying, but he tries to be silent so he doesn't disturb Nezuko even more, the little girl who doesn't understand why her family seemed to be asleep hours ago and hasn't woken up yet.
Tanjirou is exhausted and absolutely devastated; the only thing that keeps him up is the drive to take care of Nezuko and keep her safe. He takes her in his arms and tries to explain to her that from now on, it's just the two of them.
That's how a beautiful woman finds them; she wears a haori that makes it look like she has butterfly wings and carries a weapon on her belt. It's not a katana, but the redhead is sure it's quite as lethal.

Summary
Aoi's advice is to keep Tanjirou in his room the whole time; he's not physically hurt, but he got hit by a blood demon art that makes him act like he's a bit drunk and very affectionate.
The kakushi who brought him to the butterfly estate were a bit reluctant to let him go because Tanjirou kept telling them they were adorable and gave them kisses and a lot of hugs to each one. However, after Aoi convinced them (she ordered them actually) they left him in one of the recovery rooms alone.
