The Cursed Seal of Heaven has a very specific purpose—to heighten and aggravate emotions and physical strength. After all, a man obsessed is a man easily manipulated.
And there is no one more obsessive than Sasuke Uchiha.
Orochimaru is counting on the seal to amplify Sasuke’s need for vengeance and power until he comes crawling to Orochimaru on his own, thirsting for the knowledge to defeat his brother.
What Orochimaru didn’t count on, was that Sasuke Uchiha had become just as obsessed with mother-henning his own teammates.
Something Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi are finding out the hard way.
Essentially, as soon as Sasuke wakes up after the invasion, he panics, kidnaps his teammates from the hospital, and locks them away in his apartment.

Summary
The war was over. Sasuke was still an idiot, but they were mostly getting over that. During an ambush, Naruto jumps in front of a jutsu that would tear his former sensei's soul from his body. The jutsu begins to tear Kurama away instead. In a desperate bid to save both his and Naruto's life, Kurama does something almost as unpredictable as his host. He tries to send them back in time a day. This would have worked fine, except Kurama might have...overshot things a bit.

And he went ahead with the brilliant idea of saddling him with his dead sensei’s son, Itachi’s little brother, and a kunoichi who was so much a cannon fodder that she had a literal target on her bright red dress.
He would not be blamed for the shitshow that was about to start.

Kakashi only knows how to teach three things: survival, assassination, and pretending to be normal. Good thing that's exactly what his cute little genins need to learn. And if they also learned how to be a family in the process, well, that's just a bonus.

As he became more aware he suddenly realized this was his old apartment. He could smell the mildew and see all the knickknacks and posters of his childhood bedroom.
Naruto shook as he stood. This can’t be real. He made the release sign to dispel any genjutsus and blinked when nothing happened. He reached out with his chakra and felt his old anbu guards nearby.
Naruto rushed to his balcony and whipped the door open, a bird startled and flapped its great wings as it flew from his apartment roof. Naruto inhaled deeply with his head tilted back as he looked out over the dimly lit Konoha. It smelt and looked so alive. His eyes began to water as he gazed up at the hokage summit and that’s when he took a step back in shock.
