Time passes in Hell and Syrup gets used to things. Not that he had much further down to go, but a chance overhearing of an ad keys him into the fact there's demons who can get to earth. He's reminded of one or two loose ends he had back in his old life.
He gets more of a reminder than he bargained for, though. Both from earth and from Hell. But people change. And loose threads can stay loose for all he cares.
