Karkat Vantas really didn’t want to be here.
The nightclub, Lux, was everything he’d expected it to be, dimly lit aside from the small colored lights that swept over the crowd, with ridiculous pitch black mirror finish tiling from floor to ceiling, huge, ostentatious light fixtures on the wall to bounce off the tile, and packed wall to wall with sweaty model types that frequented the club. It was hot, crowded, sweaty, and loud. All in all, not exactly his scene, but Karkat had no choice. It was the only way to get a conversation with the owner; Dave Strider.

What if Chloe hadn't been unconscious when Lucifer protected her with his wings, and she had seen the wings before she saw his devil face? What if all her friends didn't totally abandon her the second she found out Lucifer had been telling her the truth the whole time? And what if we got to see some of the immediate aftermath, and how Chloe and Lucifer would attempt to explain what the hell happened at this crime scene?
Canon divergence after 3x24. The title is a lyric from the RJA song ‘Cat and Mouse’ that seemed fitting for both halves of Deckerstar.
