Summary
“Everyone goes for the face, you see,” Delia is telling Stede, her leg back up on the chair that’s inexplicably placed between them. “I’m an original. I wanted a memory of our—” Delia shoots Ed a look. “—time together.”
Delia shakes at her skirt. She holds Ed’s twittering gaze as it slides slowly across her thigh, baring a faded, and yet extremely accurate tattoo of—
“Holy shit,” Lucius is somehow hissing from behind Ed’s back, voice shaking, “is that a tattoo of Blackbeard’s dick?”

Summary
They speak at length, every single day, in and out. All they do is talk, and not just about their pain and forgiveness. About the work left on the house, about their pasts, about their old life and their hopes for their new life. Stede believes Ed knows him best, inside and out, surely, and he would hope Ed would say the same about him. They revel in conversation, in paid compliments, in laughter, in flirtatious words and necking.
It simply doesn’t translate to the sex. Sex is quiet and serious and routine. And Stede’s not sure he has any right to be slightly put out about that. And since Stede’s not sure how he should be feeling, he’s not really sure how to put it into words. Ed always makes him so comfortable, makes him feel beautiful and adored, makes him believe in himself. This one little thing shouldn’t be that difficult to discuss.
--
Or: Stede is blissfully happy with Ed and their new home. He's just got some simple concerns! About their sex life! No big deal!

Summary
“It’s a baby,” he said, turning to his stunned counterpart. “An actual baby!”
“Yes, I can see that,” Ed said. He was eyeing the screaming child like it might take Stede’s arm off at any moment. The man had faced down loaded rifles with more aplomb. “Why’d you pick it up, mate? Put it down.”
“I can’t just put it down, it’s crying! And no wonder.” He looked around the well-appointed nursery but could find no trace of any other occupants. “They just left it here. Who leaves a baby behind? My word, that is just—well, a poor example of parenting, if you ask me.” He rocked the sobbing babe in his arms, his eyes trained on Ed. “We should have the crew pick this house over very thoroughly. Serves them right, abandoning a little baby. I think I saw a silver service in the kitchen; make sure they nab that.”

Summary
“The fuck?” Ed manages, instantly getting his foot stuck in a nearby bucket.
“Sh-shh!” Stede pushes two fingers against his lips to shut him up.
Ed goes still and a bit cross-eyed, staring down at the hand on his mouth. Stede moves it away, with a mouthed “sorry!” focusing intently on the sounds outside the shed instead.
In the alley, hurried steps and shouting voices rush past; they catch fragments of: “Where the fuck did they go then?” or “Keep looking!” and even “The short one looks like a bloody birthday cake, how do you lose that—”
