Summary
An alternate ending and sequel to Crime and Punishment.
Upon arriving at the police station to make his confession, Raskolnikov finds Porfiry Petrovich in a state of alarm, and is informed by him that should his confession come to light, he will be executed. Porfiry offers to help Raskolnikov hide from the authorities, but Raskolnikov is not seeking merely to live, but to be redeemed through suffering. Could Porfiry help with that?
