Summary
Tav is an Ilmateri monk with budding mastery of Ki, the spiritual energy that flows through all things. Astarion is a cornered animal, stuck oscillating between fight, flight, and fawn.
Against Tav's better judgment, he becomes obsessed with a bright note in Astarion's Ki, betraying his relentless will to live.
Halsin and Tav are kindred souls, both with pain that is sometimes too big to hold. Their relationship blooms where nothing else grows: Halsin's cursed homeland, for which Tav's understanding of Ki may prove the final piece of the puzzle Halsin needs to lift the curse. They become pillars of safety in Astarion's life as he learns to survive in a world not designed to make him suffer.
Astarion feels safest reclaiming his body if he has complete control over Tav's. Tav is more than willing to please. Halsin is eager to perform whatever role is needed of him.
Generally canon compliant/adjacent (edit: more adjacent). Lots of angst, hurt/comfort, sex, healing, and happy endings. Essentially that song you hear behind Astarion's tent on repeat in fanfic form.

Astarion goes into rut for the first time in over two centuries after becoming Cazador's spawn. Despite having only known each other a weeks, Gale offers to help Astarion through it. Over the course of their conquest to defeat the Netherbrain and rid themselves of their little tadpole friends, our favorite rogue and practiced wizard relearn that just because nature says one thing, doesn't mean you have to listen.

After helping Astarion through his rut, Astarion relearns what it means to be an alpha on his own terms (with a little help) and Gale learns that sometimes it's okay to be soft.

' “ You gonna keep gawking at yourself in the mirror, or are we getting in the car, Con? “ the voice catches him by surprise, pulling the android out of his thoughts, and his head snaps over to the Lieutenant leaning against the doorframe, barely concealed amusement dancing in his eyes.
“ Apologies Lieutena–Hank, I just want to make sure I’m presentable, “ he explains as he brushes himself off, eyes drifting back to the mirror. Hank huffs, looking him up and down with dramatic tilts of his chin.
“ Kid, you look fine, great even, better than I’ve cleaned up in years, now get in the fucking car. “ he says with furrowed eyebrows, turning on his heel to walk down the hallway as Connor blinks, sighing and following him, hand already dipping into his pocket to grab his coin, thumb rubbing the rough ridges of metal. '
Following the events of ' Culpability ', Connor makes his first visit to New Jericho, per Markus' request, and wrestles with the underlying tension his presence will bring.

“ Saw you on the news, it was kinda badass, “ he praised, “ I’m surprised you were able to see me so quickly, though, I thought you’d be hanging out and celebrating with your android buddies? “ Hank had asked, eyes curious, icy blues scanning his face.
Connor hesitated in answering, words getting uncharacteristically caught in his throat. It was unlike his normal speech pattern, typically quick, methodical and stable. Then again, he was still a machine at that point. Deviant Connor seemed to get his words caught more often.
He didn’t like it.
He hadn’t had time to pull together an answer, as Hank seemed to notice something in his expression and sighed, heavy and rough, pulling him towards his car by the arm of his jacket with a heavy step onto the ground with worn out boots.
That had rebooted Connor’s voicebox, and he had asked “ Where are we going? “ gently, confused. Hank huffed, shaking his head like he couldn’t believe the words that left the android’s mouth.
“ My house, something’s telling me you have nowhere else to go, “ Connor had opened his mouth to protest, which Hank cut off with an exhausted glare, “ Don’t fight me on it, I haven’t slept and I will hurt you. “
