A weak little smile crept across his muzzle, revealing a set of sharpened fangs. Today was the day he'd set aflame the monsters that entangled him, and burn their house of evil to ashes.
Twin fox-tails twirled, slowly weaving and brushing each other as the thought soothed him, stoking the flame within. The fires of vengeance had awakened.

The red Badnik raised its hand, and the door rose wide open. “Oh? The freedom fighters aren’t the primary security threat anymore!” It said.
“Oh! Did the Doctor handle them?”
“Oh no, they’re still messing with our operations!” The yellow Badnik explained in an overly cheery tone. “It’s because an anomaly overtook them in their threat level! All security systems are being planned around the idea that it’ll attack again!”
It didn’t seem to notice how concerning its words sounded. “I…see.”
“Nothing to worry about!” The orb-headed Badnik tried to comfort my mind. “Surely this anomaly will be destroyed by our wondrous Master in no time!”
“Halt!”
We had walked only a few feet into the facility when we all freezed. Looking up, I would see my hero standing on top of a balcony and looking down at me.

Summary

I thought it was a shame Prime didn't get a Season 4, particularly as the latter part of Season 3 felt a little anti-climactic. So, here's a genuine attempt to tell a story as if it were another full season. Set after the finale, this time from the perspective of everyone's favourite black and red hedgehog. Could Shadow really could have done a better job than Sonic like he claimed? Will a certain angry fox can get the ending he actually deserves? And exactly how challenging should it have been to go up against one of the smartest people in the multiverse?

Summary
When Sonic seemingly dies, he accidentally fractures the timeline, creating a false timeline. This new utopian world is unable to sustain life, so Sonic and his friends are forced to fight in an arena to eliminate each other. Only six can survive, and they will be offered the chance to go back in time to try to stop Sonic’s death, restoring the real timeline and erasing the false one. But the arena has a way of playing nasty tricks on the minds of the competitors, and alliances are forged and betrayals are brewing. Who will survive and who will fall?
Meanwhile, life continues on in the real timeline after Sonic’s death, but it would have been better if life had come to a freezing halt, or simply not existed at all. Eggman has dominated the world, assisted by two familiar robots and a sadistic jackal. Time and tragedy have changed Sonic’s friends, some staying true to the heroic path and others embracing dark personas. There is no hope, only survival. This is the beginning of the end.
