Summary
-A rare blizzard strikes Green Hills about one month after the Eclipse Cannon explosion, leaving the Wachowskis with little to do but wait it out. Sonic is struggling with an inner turmoil both in his own heart and in someone-else's, all while having no clue as to who they are; all he knows is, whoever they are, they were alone and desperate in a cave, crying. At the height of the storm, a familiar face is found that no-one expected.
-And Sonic is positive it's all connected.
-As the blizzard wreaks havoc on the outside, guilt and regret are revealed behind crumbling walls belonging to their newest arrival, the pain in the soul too much to bear. What little they can do in the present is negated by the past, and the future of this lost soul is thrown into jeopardy. Time itself seems to slip away to die in the snow, but if the Wachowskis give up on this boy, it won't be the snow that does him in.

The frog can probably survive until he can move it tomorrow. He can manage the water otherwise. Still, he’d like to make sure there are no other factors to consider. He reads on.
If only Sonic had told him how easy it was to get lost in a computer.
“Hey, bud. What are you doing?”
Shadow startles, and he’s suddenly on the other side of the room, fizzling electricity cooling down under his skin. Tom is sitting up in his chair at the table, completely awake and looking at him. He tenses, ready to bolt.
“You’re okay, you’re not in trouble,” Tom says quickly, holding up a hand. “Relax.”
Shadow narrows his eyes.
“Please,” the man adds. “I can see you bristling.”

Shadow finds a frog outside in the cold. He tries to save it on his own, but Tom finds out - and helps him bring it to a nearby creek.

Shadow meets Wolverine...and one old immortal with a history of being an experiment has a philosophical talk with a much younger immortal who has experienced loss but hasn't lived enough yet to experience it really the way he will. Love the hint of mentor/mentee here with Shadow being a belligerent brat and Logan being a crotchy old man who is once again dealing with teenagers and connecting with said teen. Lots of similarities but also differences between the pair. That Rouge arranged the meeting is even better. She definitely fits all the criteria of someone who would know Logan.

Shadow found and adopted by the Wachowskis again. At first he thinks it a hallucination, but Sonic and co prove it’s real and everyone has their opportunity to help Shadow in the healing process, physical and emotional/mental until Shadow boldly claims them as his family.
The final chapter is amazing and super satisfying!
Sonic gets to be a badass and so does Shadow and it’s great! -

Amazing story about Sonic’s final week as King Arthur and his decision to leave after being there over a year. Fantastic characterization all around, but especially Sonic as he prepares to leave while also do everything he can to make sure Camelot, his knights, Merlina, and the rest are prepared and taken care of. All of this with the help of Gwen, who becomes Sonic’s friend and he her’s in such a short time. So well written!!!
