That was 4 years ago--they've now been broken up for 3 years.
Lux is finally out, but is still reeling from losing Jinx and being forced out of the closet. She's convinced she's doing well though. She's a bit of a lesbian fuckboy.

Jinx is shockingly happy--she's a senior at Piltover U, and after 3 years of struggling to get her shit together, she's finally got it figured out. Some things are complicated, but she's enjoying school, and has a lot of great people in her life. She's looking forward to a year of relaxing, and reaping the benefits of the hard work she's done to be happy. When she enrolls in a class with her favorite professor and just one other student, she expects it'll be a fun time. Instead, she's paired up with her least favorite person on campus--an insufferable, fake, obnoxious bitch named Luxanna Crownguard.

She's spent way too much time hiding to really know who she is at this point. Her therapist convinces her to at least try and make friends in her last year instead of being alone, so she enrolls in a class with the one girl who has seen through her facade. She hopes they'll be great friends, instead she finds her truly infuriating
