Needed to know that Eddie didn’t hate him—he wouldn’t accept any other outcome. So he hyped himself up and strode towards Eddie’s door, breathing deep to quell the anxiety bubbling up inside him. Each step felt heavy, like he knew he was walking towards his doom.”

After the lawsuit is dropped, Buck tries to talk to Eddie about why he did what he did and to get Eddie to understand. Eddie gets mad, freaks out on Buck and yells. Buck flashes back to his childhood and shuts down, completely disassociating. Eddie fixes it.

"H-how?"
"Uh, I don't know yet," Eddie admits. "Slowly, I suppose. I thought we could, you know, come up with a plan together?"
"A plan," Buck echoes, but he doesn't sound weirded out, more like he's already planning to buy a clipboard. "And it wouldn't be strange? I mean, considering— I'm a man, Eddie."

“No?” The man cocks his head to the side slightly, almost mockingly, and then purses his lips. “You know what, maybe I should go and get the kid instead. What’s his name? Christopher, right?”
“He hasn’t done anything– neither of them! have” Buck shouts desperately, tears spilling out of his eyes. “It’s me you want to hurt. Just– just leave them alone! Don’t hurt them!”
“You’re right, Buck. It is you I want to hurt which is exactly why I'm going to hurt the people you love the most.”
“No, please.” Buck pleas one more time, his entire body trembling right where he’s sitting on the floor. “Just kill me, please.”
“Oh, I will.” The man shrugs. “Just not yet.”
