“Rumi! It is you! How are you alive?” Zoey cheered, and Rumi’s head flipped toward the sound, where Zoey and Mira stood at the other end of the alleyway. Both wore all black, and Mira even had a black sunhat with a veil. Zoey moved to run toward her, but Mira’s arm shot in front, keeping Zoey from getting closer.
“I knew it. I knew it was too good to be true,” Mira said, glaring at her with hate and disgust in her eyes. Exactly the way she looked at… well, demons, but dialed up to higher than ever before. “Zo—patterns. That’s not Rumi.”

Pre-reveal Rumi takes a hit while fighting on top of a speeding train car—not from a club, but a sword straight through the chest. That should have been the end, but demons revive in the demon realm when killed. Not even Rumi expected that would apply to her as well.

Summary
After surviving the underworld and fulfilling the prophecy that was supposed to destroy them, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey return to Fenric Academy for their second year expecting life to finally feel normal again.
Instead, they find themselves completely lost.
Still healing from everything they endured, the girls struggle to settle back into ordinary student life while navigating a bond that has grown deeper, stronger, and far more intense than any of them fully understand.

Summary
The first time, that day in the alley, she blacked out. All she remembers is the pain of her body rearranging itself and the taste of ash and ozone in her mouth, that’s what she told everyone else at least. Everything else she remembers terrifies her too much to tell.
She remembers hunger. The way her tongue, too long for her mouth, lolled out at the chance to taste the sweet crimson in the air.
She remembers rage, harsh and indignant, at the thought that anything would touch what’s hers.
Moreso, she remembers the bloodlust.
OR
Mira gets hurt. Rumi loses it and goes full demon. Soul sex ensues. (as in Rumi can see and manipulate Zoey and Mira's souls and starts sucking on them)

Mira's brows twitch.
"I… I know now isn't the time, but I'm realizing that actually I haven't seen you get sick. Like, ever. Is that—"
"A demon thing?" Rumi whispers. "Probably. Celine always said I had a strong immune system."
Mira makes a face. One that Rumi would've struggled to decipher even if her vision wasn't so blurry.
"Celine… knows?"~
In the immediate aftermath of Namsan tower, Rumi wakes up the following morning sick as a dog. Zoey and Mira help her through it, while also confronting their emotions and assumptions about the events of the last 24 hours.
