Summary
The Cloud Recesses Guest Lectures were held every three years for disciples between the ages of fifteen and eighteen. They had three purposes.
The first (and the reason it was hosted by the Lan) was to provide a shared baseline understanding of the core cultivation topics that underpinned every sect while not divulging clan-specific approaches.
The second was to create opportunities for friendships and alliances that would reduce the chance of war between the clans.
The third, and most important, was for the clans to replenish their bloodline by finding compatible mates with strong cultivation skills. In the last month of the lectures, challenges to test compatibility could be issued.
Wei Wuxian challenges Lan Wangji, sure that they are compatible mates. The Lan refuse to allow the Challenge.

Summary

Enraged, they launch an investigation against Shen Qingqiu, vowing to bring him to justice in the absence of Yue Qingyuan.
With no memories to support or deny this claim, Shen Jiu plays along, leveraging the righteous cultivators' outrage for his own survival. He is taken in as a disciple of Xuan Shu peak, where he is forced to come to terms with his own past traumas, and experiences related to his gender. For so long he pretended to be a boy, will he be able to find comfort in his girlhood now?

Summary
Shen Yuan had loved his shidi, Luo Binghe. What hadn't he done to spoil him? To protect him, both before and after Shen Yuan became Shen Qingqiu, head of Qing Jing peak? It all came to ashes when Luo Binghe attacked and destroyed Cang Qiong- and then all the other cultivation sects, one after the other. Shen Yuan himself was accused falsely, locked in the lowest, worst dungeons, and left to starve. This led him to willingly consume the poisoned congee delivered to his cell.
When he wakes up, he discovers that Luo Binghe was a transmigrator who really failed his mission and ended the world. The shidi he thought he'd known had simply taken all the kindness Shen Yuan had given him, and used it to destroy everything Shen Yuan loved.
To make it all worse, he is pulled back in to his role when Luo Binghe invades The System and restarts the world of Proud Immortal Demon Way.
Well, Shen Yuan isn't about to let him destroy the world twice. Whatever his motivation, whatever his goal, Shen Yuan will protect his sect and himself from Luo Binghe's machinations.
