Summary
After almost dying, Cross finds himself in the middle of the underground with a bunch of alternate versions of himself. Desperate to get back to his Royal Guard duties, Cross begins his journey of getting home, though things aren't nearly as he would expect...

Cross gets stranded and tries to get back to the toxic environment which he calls home, and encounters the multiverse on his way.

Summary
They had a problem in the castle. Specifically Cross had a problem and Nighymare had to be aware of it. The younger monster seemed to have been having regular nightmares that kept him up and made him misrable during the day. Nightmare had caught him multiple times in the kitchen or lounge due to his own odd (nonexistent) sleeping hours.
He surely knew Nightmare knew, but never seemed interested in acknowledging it. On the few occasions their paths would merge, Cross would mumble an apology about being up so late and scurry away. It hadn't started to affect his performance in the field *yet* but it was only a matter of time. So tonight, Nightmare decided, he would approach Cross instead of observing him from the shadows.
