“Here—” Eddie passed a piece of paper down the table, tossing it in front of Steve. “You’ll need a pencil.”
The paper was yellow, thick like cardstock, and crinkled when he held it too tight. It was covered in boxes and fill-in-the-blanks with words Steve didn’t know. What was a patron deity? Or an alignment? Or a weapon of proficiency?
Could he put down nail bat as a weapon of proficiency?
“What do I do with this?” he asked blankly.
Eddie laughed. It was a nice laugh, Steve thought. It didn’t sound like he was laughing at him, more like he was laughing with him. Like they were both in on the joke.

Summary
Soon, they were in game mode, and the brunette was having an incredible time. His rolls were going in his favor, and the kids were super supportive. What was even better was the compliments and little names Eddie was throwing his way.
“Sir Stephan, you and your team of misfits may pass,” the DM said in a deep, gravelly voice before switching into his normal tone. “Good job, Sweetheart.”
A chill ran down his spine, but he ignored it, waiting to learn what lay beyond the Troll Bridge.
It continued like that for hours.
Steve solved the riddle. “Look at you go, Big Boy.”
Steve rolled an 18 to help Dustin take down the giant snake in the Forbidden Forest. “Way to go, Darling.”

Steve finds out he has a praise kink during a campaign, and once he defeats the evil wizard, victory sex with the DM ensues.

It’s the first time in a while that he doesn’t know what comes next. He’s dove into the water hundreds of times. Screamed as his flesh was torn apart, heard Master of Puppets in the distance and held back tears. Felt Max’s cold, small hand in his as she laid in the hospital bed. There are things that always happen, no matter how hard he tries: El doesn’t arrive in time. Eddie dies. Max is put in a coma.
Steve fails. They lose.
“Steve, how many loops have you been through?”
His head is nodding, and his eyes are watery, and Eddie has approached him like a spooked animal.
“I lost count.”
AKA: The one where Steve Harrington is stuck in a time loop, and Eddie Munson is really fucking hard to save, or: fuck Volume 2, these bitches are in love.

But then Eddie saw a whole pile of kids get in Harrington’s car, and he overheard Nancy Wheeler say that “Steve was babysitting,” and that image didn’t even remotely align with anything Eddie knew about King Steve “The Hair” Harrington, but he figured he didn’t know much, anyway, and it wasn’t any of his business, when it came down to it.
Eddie thought so little of it, in fact, that he had almost forgotten that Max had apparently been babysat by one Steve Harrington. That is, until Steve Harrington started showing up at the trailer park, picking up Max and driving away, and then Eddie wouldn’t see Max at home again for days on end.
Eddie didn’t know much about babysitting, but he was pretty sure the gigs were more of an hourly thing.

"Tell me, Eddie," Steve said as he parked the Beamer in his driveway.
Eddie swallowed. There was no distraction of the road to cover up what he was about to say and he rolled his eyes. "I... might've... I was kind of going to say something about making you a mother of three," he breathed hoarsely.
Steve went pink but was suddenly grinning from ear to ear. He was silent as he got out of the car and pivoted to open the back, letting the sun fall onto Eddie's features as he peered down at him. "Not six? I always pictured six."
After registering that response, without another thought, Eddie kissed him.
OR-
Eddie Munson survives the Upside Down and hides out at Steve Harrington's house to recover. Eddie completely changes Steve's life, sexuality and all.

Two days after they failed to defeat Vecna, after Max died and came back, after Eddie died—and didn’t. Two days after they were forced to leave his body behind in the Upside Down because everything had gone to shit, a bright yellow pizza delivery van that looked like it’d been through its own apocalypse pulled into the Wheeler's driveway.
Jonathan, Mike, Will, and El finally made it home to Hawkins with the help of a friend.
On day three, Max woke up.
She’d have a long road to recovery, but the doctors seemed fairly confident she’d walk again. Though, no one could be sure how much of her eyesight would return, if any. The same day, in a twist no one saw coming, Joyce showed up, fresh off a plane from Alaska after escaping Russia—yes, Russia—with a miraculously alive and mostly well Jim Hopper.
And four days after the world both did and didn’t end, the ghost of Eddie Munson appeared in Steve’s living room.

Steve comes to Eddie's trailer with a very personal problem. Eddie listens, compassionate and judgment-free, and proposes a solution. Completely selflessly, of course; he just wants to reassure Steve that there's nothing wrong with him, or more accurately, his dick. Except for the fact that Eddie's been pathetically yearning for his friend for months now, and is always greedy for whatever scraps of Steve Harrington he can get, even breaking his own heart in the process.
“I think… it’s all just about your state of mind, Stevie. Maybe you just need a different approach. Where there’s no stress, no pressure, just someone focusing on… you. No stakes, no expectations, no judgment on how long it takes for you to… get to a finish line, or even whether you enter the race at all, so to speak. Just let yourself feel good.”
