“Can you take a deep breath for me?”
He swallows, finally looking up at her. He shakes his head.
He’s breathing faster, panting quietly and hands gripping his wrists tightly.
“Do you know what’s brought this on?”
A nod, hesitant and jerky.
“Can you tell me? I won’t make fun of you, I promise.”
I picked "missing" scenes from some episodes (it'll be obvious which ones, dw), and ran with it briefly. Chock-full of whump, and comfort amongst this lovely found family. Love all around : )

Summary
A (very mixed up) timeline of how Hyde's friends learned about his anxiety disorder, and what they quietly do to help- since he won't ask.
I wrote a one-shot a while ago (now renamed Drop Door), and then got curious about how each character would approach his anxiety. I also really wanted to follow up on Eric's promise (in my one-shot) to help Hyde with his anxiety.
I was inspired to make a whole thing of these just because of my own anxiety and the total lack of helpfulness from my own family when it comes to anxiety.
(aka, giving Hyde the help and love for his GAD that I never got : ) . . . and this why we love fanfic /gen)

“Robby? Hey, everything okay, brother?”
Robby shakes his head, then realised that's not something Jack can interpret over the phone. Clears his throat. Murmurs a gravelly,
“N-not great. Think’ve- fuck- think’ve got appendicitis.”
There's a muffled curse and a rustling on Jack's end. Robby lets his eyes fall closed, throat bobbing nauseously.
“Mikey?”
“Mm.”
“I’m coming.”

Sicktember Day 4- Pneumonia
The entire journey to the hospital, John cries. He's doing his best to hide it, keeping his head tilted towards the window and chewing on his lower lip, but he's apparently too feverish to realise that his reflection gives the game away. Every time they pass a streetlight, the brief glow illuminates the tear tracks on his cheeks. He looks so young it frightens Anna to death.
“Nearly there,” She murmurs, as if it's the length of the drive itself which is upsetting him. “Not long now, John.”

Part 2 to 'you don't have to be on your own'. Anna brings Carter to the hospital.

When Peter initially finds Carter asleep in an empty exam room, he's pissed. After all, he's been paging the kid for nearly ten minutes without a response, and there's a lap-choly upstairs that needs his- their- attention. How often does a third year med student get to even watch that sort of procedure, let alone take part in it? Peter was doing him a giant favour, and now he looks like an idiot.
“Carter!” He calls from the doorway, brow knit with fury. “Carter!”
Nothing.
OR
Carter fell asleep on shift, except now he won't wake up.
