Summary
Inspired by his son slowly coming out of his shell, Aizawa Shouta decides it's high time he showed Hitoshi how much he trusts him; and what better way than loosening the leash and inviting Hitoshi to join him on patrol? When things go wrong and Hitoshi is exposed to a villain's quirk, Shouta comes face to face with all the ugly things he never knew he never knew. The one thing he does know? Whoever he's trapped with is not Hitoshi.
Or, Hitoshi is hit with a villainous quirk that sends him back to the worst moments of his life. Hatake Kakashi has had some pretty bad moments.
In which I finally give into the urge to write a Road to Nowhere AU after years of obsession and am wholeheartedly determined to put everyone through a meat grinder.

' "They're not my friends," indignance written across his face in bold features as this pup tries to puff up his chest from a suspended position; he gets impressively close. "They said we would make a lot of money," this he grumbles, soft and to the side, cast towards the eery quiet of a darkened residential Park Row street at night. Not meant for the masked figures flanking him but heard nontheless.
"Doesn't look like it worked out," at Dick's words the kid tilts his head to meet his gaze head on and scrunches his nose,
"Those jackasses made me lookout then ditched me with the evidence!" The pup kicks the little leg out in front of him; Dick snorts, this kid's what six? Seven? It's honestly pretty adorable to watch him gripe about his little crew. Bruce cuts in.
"He hit me with the tire iron." Dick barks out a shocked laugh at that, grinning wide as he addressing the boy,
"You hit Batman with a tire iron?!" the kid darts his eyes back and forth between them, ducks his head with a blush creeping over cheeks that still cling desparately to their babyfat despite his thin frame, maybe he caught the amusement in Bruce's voice too. He bites his lip and meets Dick's eyes again. Searching. '

I just thought he was strong enough to take it' Katsuki was also incredibly intelligent on his own, he somehow knew things that most children wouldn't know until at least 14. but I had to say something 'Katsuki you do not hurt people like that, even if you think they are strong enough. not everyone can live up to your expectations' I lectured calmly, not raising my voice and keeping an easy stern tone. Katsuki nodded seemingly understanding 'I realized that after I did it, that's why I felt like throwing up' Hizashi seemed to notice how smart the kid was to, explaining how he felt and emotionally regulating himself with most ease that even some adults didn't have, for Katsuki it seemed like he knew how to ask for help and say his problems. but that didn't feel like it would last for long if he was going to stay with his parents, luckily for Katsuki, I will never let them lay a hand on him ever again, not as long as I still lived, I will find a safe environment for him to live in.
or Bakugou Katsuki is adopted by Aizawa and Hizashi after Aizawa finds him dry heaving in the park.

Shouta sighed as he sat at the kitchen table pouring over the paperwork he needed to complete for the next day, the house was dead silent as it was reaching around 2:45am.
Hizashi was dead asleep to the world by now and their foster son Katsuki was also asleep.
At least Shouta hoped so, the little boy struggled with sleeping and so far he had woken up every night to come snuggle with Shouta in bed. It wasn't that the omega minded, it was just odd to him.
