Peter was in a pickle. He had one of two choices that he could make and both of them were not ideal.
1: He could stop at Starbucks, get everyone's orders like he was supposed to do and be around forty minutes late, which would lead to Gwen and MJ chewing him out...again or…
2: Skip the coffee, be on time and still get an ear full from the girls about not having their drinks and one cake pop. On a different note, cake pop? In the morning? Why? That is not part of a balanced diet.

He pictured Simon behind him pressed all along his back, hot and heavy and breathing like he was barely holding himself together. Simon’s hand over his mouth. Grace wanted it so fucking bad. He wanted Simon wound past thinking, past all that restraint. Wanted Simon’s teeth at his neck and Simon’s hand low on his stomach, holding him still while Grace fell apart against him. He wanted Simon making those broken growling sounds into his skin like Grace was prey, or food, or home, or some fucked-up fourth thing Grace didn’t have a word for.
Grace’s knees bent; he was barely standing.
He bit down on his lip to keep quiet and pushed his fingers deeper.
A low breath came from in front of him.
“Grace.”
His eyes snapped open.
Shit.

To his surprise, though, the stranger doesn’t fight back. He puts his hands up and stares at Simon with wide eyes. “Hey, um,” he starts, “I know you probably can’t, like, understand me—but, uh, I was trying to help you. You looked a little—I kind of thought you were a corpse, to be honest.”
A corpse? Simon squints. The organs at his throat gasp for air strangely and then, failing that, close up with an air of finality. Briefly, he allows himself a glance back at the panel that leads to where he had been, but only sees a white wall smudged with the blood he’s still coated in.
“Yeah, you were kind of free-floating.” The guy swallows. “In space.”
Simon wants to squeeze the life out of him for saying such absolute bullshit—to his face, no less. Except his eyes still burn from that light. That blazing light. It couldn’t have been what he thought it was.

or: Doctor Ryland Grace brings what he assumes is a dead body onto the Hail Mary. One small issue: the body isn’t actually as dead as he thought, and Simon is freaking out.
