Summary
Hecate Hardbroom thought that her summer would be time dedicated to her craft as a potion expert and no students to interfere with that. Of course, though she was wrong in assuming that's what she would get, as a Mildred Hubble appears in the dead of night weeping about a broken arm and a dead mother. It is up to Miss Hardbroom to look after her, and become her guardian for the time being. The only thing is can she do it alone? Pippa Pentangle keeps reminding her it takes a coven of witches to raise a child.

Summary
The Dursleys have had enough and decided well, since Harry is now a teenager surely he can work for his own keep and sent him off to get a job as they will no longer be providing him with his needs (not like they did that anyway) and surely he can start helping pay the bills. Harry fortunately found a job that is nearby, a grocery store. As Harry settles in on this new routine he gets used it until one day on the checkout line he runs into the last person he wants to see.
"P-professor Snape?"
"Potter!"
For Harry it appears to be that things seem to be getting worse but finds that perhaps this is the start of something good.

Summary
On the first day of summer after 5th year, Harry is sure that he will have the longest, worst summer of his life. Still grieving Sirius and with thoughts of the prophecy, his only thought is to make it to Hogwarts in the fall.
His plans are ruined when a Death Eater attack leaves the Dursleys dead, the blood wards destroyed, and Severus Snape's cover as spy blown. Now, both are wanted by the Dark Lord and in danger. For their own safety, Dumbledore sends the two to a safe house, far to the north -- a cottage by the sea. There, Harry and Severus learn far more about each other than they ever dreamed.

Summary
After Harry blows up Aunt Marge, Dumbledore decides it's not safe for Harry to spend the rest of the summer at the Leaky Cauldron, and instead sends him to stay at Spinner’s End with Professor Snape.
It's tense, awkward, and teeming with misunderstandings...but it might be the best thing that's happened to either of them. They're both been without a family for a very long time.
