Summary
Trying to hold on to reality was like grasping and pulling at a rope, hanging over a ledge, with a solid block of metal at the other end. His hands would hold on tight, his skin ripping and reddening with the sickening pull of coarse fibres against his grip. But in the end, no matter how hard he tried, the muscles and tendons in his hand would twitch with exhaustion and slacken, the metal pulling his sanity deeper into the cavern it descended into. Then, when walking down the street, the buildings would morph and wane, realness of the world around him would fade, and in its place would be the crude imaginations of his cold, dead body suspended above the ground via a rope, or his mangled corpse lying upon train tracks.

Summary
John Watson struggles to admit his love for Sherlock, and forces himself to repress it due to religious guilt. Sherlock believes that John is acting unusually due to something he has done, and their relationship grows taught until John is forced to admit his feelings atop a gravely wounded Sherlock.

John cant bear to accept his love for Sherlock until he has to, before Sherlock dies at his hands. -

He looks down and he sees himself in a puddle on the table. John sees it too. His eyes invade what is sherlock holmes, who he is, what he is. It feels like he's ripping apart each limb, before cracking open his chest and crawling inside. Replacing the heart which has hurt so much. He should've seen it, should've known. Sherlock Holmes needs John watson. To thrive. To function. To love and to be loved. Without John Watson he is nothing; John Watson is not himself luminous, but a conductor of light. His conductor of light.
Or, Sherlock Holmes is utterly miserable, after a month of suffering, he realises more people want to help him than he expected.

"Stupid human," Adrian hisses. "You would give up your chance for him just like that?"
"Yes," Grace says hoarsely.
