Summary
METSON-013 is the 14th iteration of the Metal Sonic line, and he's determined to also be the last.
His core objective is to surpass Sonic the Hedgehog. Years of failure, doubt, and uncertainty have led him to draw one conclusion on the subject: if he ever wants to fulfill his objective, he needs to get away from the Doctor.
That conclusion leads him to a second conclusion: his best chance of remaining out of the Doctor's clutches is to disguise himself and live amongst organics until he gets the resources for a better plan than that.
Living a quiet, anonymous life shouldn't be difficult.
(He'll soon find out that it's the hardest thing he's ever done.)

Avery lived off the unexplainable urge to find that mystery person that left him that book in his Minecraft world. He wasn’t expecting anything but he certainly wasn’t expecting to find a broken man clinging to life or his mother worried sick.

Through the opening Avery just managed to make out a human shaped lump laying under the covers of a bed. He could only glimpse at the lump’s face almost entirely covered in curly, knotted hair before the door shut again.
The mother backed away with an apologetic look. “He… he is still asleep. Nothing will be able to wake him, he is a very heavy sleeper lately.”

The room is no longer as bright, the sun having set a few hours ago, Avery didn’t close his curtains, the darkness would be too much, and he finds the city lights comforting these days. When he first moved here, they kept him awake, but now knowing that the city is alive is keeping his heartrate stable for now. When Avery presses his ear against his pillow, he can hear his heart beating. He remembers how hard it was beating when he started exploring the Minecraft world, when those mountains disappeared from underneath him.
