“If anybody knocks, tell them you and I are having a private meeting,” Mick said, as he was finally permitted to straighten up, turn around, and face Dev. His back ached, slightly, but he readily ignored it. He was a young man still; he’d survived worse for less.
“And why is that my responsibility?” Dev questioned, haughtily, as he began to stride back over towards Mick.
Mick’s lips split into a wide grin as he met Dev’s gaze, then slowly sank to his knees, maintaining eye contact all the while. “Because my mouth will be otherwise occupied.” He paused. “If you’re amenable to that, of course.”

Summary
Tim has been grappling with the aftermath of everything that happened. Was anything Elliot said true, or had he been lying the whole time? How was one man both the murderer and the man who laughed at him good-naturedly and helped him up when he tripped over his own feet?
Clearly trust is something he shouldn't give away so easily, but if that's true, how can he know when to trust anyone?
The memories are confusing jumbles, filled infuriatingly with two polar opposite sides of the same man. The man who had taken up his brain so much recently, the man with the horrible dye job that he had once found endearing.
He's just supposed to move on now. Unfazed by the man who rocked his entire world like it was nothing.

“Hey Azune,” Hal said when he came in. His voice had gone even softer than it was when he helped Azune calm down after a nightmare. He held the wicker carrier up to let him see inside.
Between the cushioned sides of the basket lay a tiny baby. Much smaller than Azune had ever seen before. They had skin the color of late-summer clover and thin dark hair across their head and the most perfect little ears that came to a point towards the back. They were asleep, swaddled in a blanket.
“Meet Namai Areil.”
When one of Hal's acquaintances finds herself struggling to care for her new baby, he offers to take care of the little one for a week so she can rest and recover from the birth. He's no stranger to fostering, after all.
What he wasn't expecting, but maybe should have been, was for his other current foster Azune to be so much help. And through helping care for the baby, Azune may learn some things about taking care of himself.

He sees the way they look at him, as time goes on—and tries his damnedest to ignore their concern, unwarranted and wasted on him.
It takes a week for the strain to start taking its toll.
(Or, Azune pushes himself to the breaking point. Thankfully, he's got people to catch him before he goes too far over the edge. Canon divergence where the schemers have a little more time before the other tables make it back to the city.)
