Summary
Rowena was bought, trained, and branded to serve a powerful man who preferred his weapons sharp and obedient.
She fixed the last problem with a dagger.
But freedom proved short-lived when a mind flayer ship crashed into the Sword Coast and left a parasite burrowing behind her eye. To survive, Rowena was forced into uneasy alliances with strangers she should not trust: a silver-tongued vampire who saw far too much of himself in her violence, and a wizard whose quiet kindness hid the kind of ambition that once nearly destroyed him.
Both men carried ghosts of their own—one haunted by a master who refused to release his hold, the other by power he was never meant to wield.
Both offered something she had never known before.
Neither came without a cost.
And as the road to Baldur’s Gate grew darker, Rowena would learn that killing her master had only been the beginning.
Because some ghosts refused to stay dead.
And some of them remembered exactly how to find her.

Fen is hunted by her fate, haunted by a power she does not understand, bound in the wrath endued to her by Silvanus himself. When she falls under the spell of the rather intriguing vampire in camp, the boundaries of desire, control and autonomy blur, and she finds herself questioning everything she thought she understood of the natural order.
To survive, Fen must confront the tortures of her past, unravel the mystery of her fate, and determine whether she was chosen… or condemned.
A druid without connection. A Chosen without faith. Rage without control.
‘Save the Thousands. Break their curse. Bring them back to the Circle.’
When the God of the Wilds calls, is her destiny even hers to refuse?

Summary
This is a slow-paced, heavily altered adaptation of Baldur’s Gate 3 with Astarion as the imperfect, dramatic, and exceptionally vigilant narrator. It is gory, action-packed, and slow to build, with the main story taking a backseat to a character-driven and character-focused narrative set in the vast and dangerous land of Faerun. Gale Dekarios leads a group of misfits and weirdos along a path full of peril, loss, healing, and whimsy, seeking both a cure to the tadpoles in their skulls and to heal from the scars that haunt them.
Oh yeah, and Astarion accidentally falls for an idiot of a wizard he only meant to use for his revenge.
