Summary
“Are you gonna help me with this or not?” Adora asks, rising onto her tiptoes so she can actually reach the top of the sodding tree that Catra had warned was gonna be too tall to decorate without a step ladder.
“Not.” Catra replies from where she’s sprawled inelegantly over the couch. Her tail swaying languidly over the cushions.
Adora huffs lightly. Before, and it’s with an uncharacteristic level of caution, slipping the white and gold bauble in place on a branch above her head. “That’s not very helpful.”
“I never claimed to be,” Catra disputes, folding her arms. “Besides, you’re the one who wanted the tree, I didn’t sign up for any of this grunt work.”
Adora, ironically, grunts like she’s finally accepting the refusal. Which is a shame really, because Catra doesn’t think it would have taken much more for her to have rolled her eyes and joined her.

Summary
A scrapbook of memories and this is the one that sits on the very first page, but she knows she knew Catra long before that too, and they’d fallen together again every summer like the rest of the year didn't even exist.
It was a mystery to Adora, still, as to why everything had so violently torn apart that last July after they'd presented. She’d been expecting a little anger, resentment maybe, but she hadn’t prepared herself for four years of cold, absent silence.
She accepts it was her fault.
She wishes she knew why.

Summary
Zoey thinks, lying back against the paper covering of the cold examination table, while trying to ignore the sensation of inorganic equipment being lodged in places they had no god-given right to be, that this is, inarguably, the least sexy way to get knocked up.
Zoey isn’t really sure how she ended up here, in all honesty.
Well, she is. She can recount the steps chronologically. How Mira and Rumi had looked so god-damned defeated. How her big, stupid mouth had opened and volunteered, initially, and then had said yes to all of their concerned interrogations as to whether or not she was sure, like, really sure, one hundred per cent sure?
And now she’s said yes so many times and so adamantly that it isn’t as though she can suddenly back track and say, surprise! I am actually no longer willing to carry the baby you have been so desperately trying for because I think it would be a really super-duper bad idea! Sorry for getting your hopes up!
Zoey agrees to be a surrogate for a married Rumira. Things get messy because she's already in love with them, has known this for years, but she might be falling in love with the baby, too

Summary
"Hey, Mira?", Zoey asked tentatively.
"Yeah?"
"A siren's song doesn't work on mermaids, right?"
Mira raised a scaled eyebrow. "No, of course not. Just mortals", she said.
Pfew. That was a relief. Then maybe Zoey could go listen to it again. -

Summary
After the Idol Awards, the defeat of the Demon King, and the creation of a new Honmoon, hiatus is supposed to feel like peace. Instead, Zoey finds herself slowly slipping somewhere she can’t explain, until even music, love, and the life she fought for start to feel far away.
Rumi and Mira don’t know how to fix it, only that they refuse to lose her quietly. So, they do the only thing they can. Stay, listen, and love her back toward herself one soft thing at a time.
