That was the reason Nufuli had dragged Loonac here with him. Why he had waited patiently, allowing his friend to take the time he needed to enter the heart of his sacred ground.
Or, Nufuli remembers what it was like when things were better. And he misses it more than he ever expected.

Spoke collapses with a shrill, curling into the wall as he grabs his own hair, gripping them so hard that it looks like he’s going to rip them right off of his head.
Mapicc looks down, a triangular black horn in his trembling hands. When his hand's fingers brushes against his palm, he can feel its tiny broken shards roll on it.

In short, Mapicc accidentally breaking Spoke's horn, and how the guilt from his actions affect his treatment of Spoke despite his questionable hatred.
