She thinks she knows what danger looks like. She thinks she knows what she’s dealing with.
She doesn’t.
She sees all the red flags … and still decides to stay.

This is the healthiest version of love I could realistically come up with for him. Emphasis on ‘realistic’. She can’t magically redeem him or fix him, even if she’s a professional, but she can stay.
Not a redemption arc! He won’t turn into a nice guy either. He’s still pretty much himself and I keep him as close to canon as I possibly can.
It’s a slow burn and by slow, think a sloth trying to cross the street and by burn, think it glows … very faintly … in the dark.

Summary
Starts right after the beginning of Season 2, Episode 5, where Homelander finds out from Ashley about the protests outside of Vought Tower resulting from the accidental death of an innocent bystander. In this alt-canon divergence, Ashley has an assistant named Natalie, who is much better at dealing with Homelander. That might be because she has a serious crush on him, but could also be because she's very good at considering his needs, often arriving at diplomatic solutions. There will be shameless smut eventually.
