BURN THE PAST TO FUEL TO THE FUTURE
Captain Ashley Morgan: a proud member of the guard; footsoldier of the visionary Industrial Barons; guardian of the seven spires of The Last City; and a broken mess of a person. Only when a mission goes awry, and she is thrust into a distant and alien world, does she realise the depths of her trauma. Rena—a satyr fae, living in a lonely shack in the woods—takes pity on her. Despite Ashley’s vehement resistance, they grow close, Ashley—and Rena—begin to heal. Yet one can never burn away their past, can never fully escape it. And so, her new happiness shall be tested by her old trauma.
This work depicts blatant transphobia and non-con, please don't read if you aren't comfortable with that!

Summary
Old habits died hard so what Celine did was walk down the hall to Mira's room just as the door swung open to reveal a wide-eyed and startled Zoey.
Zoey's buns had fallen apart, she was wearing Mira's glasses askew and one of Rumi's night shirts hung loosely on her frame.
Zoey glanced behind her, then back at Celine, "This isn't what it looks like!"
Rumi covered her face with both of her hands as Mira said, "Twister got out of hand."
Or, Celine picks the wrong time to visit the girls and then things escalate.

Summary
She wants them.
She wants Mira and Zoey so badly, in whatever way, shape, or form that comes in.
For once in her life, Rumi wants to be selfish.
Or: HUNTR/X works towards sealing the Honmoon and falls in love along the way. Pre-reveal Rumi, hiding both her patterns and her wants, loves her girls in whatever way she can until she's free (whether that means shielding Mira and Zoey in fights or pretending to be something she's not). She just has to hold out until the Honmoon’s golden. Straightforward enough, right?

Rumi learning to heal and her relationship with the truth. She's really bad at it, but her girls help her out. Love the safety tools they come up with!

Summary
Her boot catches the edge of a tile—barely a slip, just a half step too short—and she stumbles.
And suddenly it’s years ago. Another rooftop. Another fall.
“You lost your balance.”
Celine’s voice, cool as the blade in her hand.
“Demons won’t give you second chances, Rumi.”
The rod glows white-hot as it strikes across her back. She doesn’t scream. She never screams.
Pain means improvement. Weakness must be purged. Mistakes are fuel.
OR
basically a rewrite of canon, starting at the Golden rehearsal and going through the pattern reveal and beyond. but ofc Rumi has a more tragic past where Celine physically and emotionally abused Rumi with a guise for improvement. (it's giving mother gothel)
The memories that haunt Rumi cause her to pull away, and the girls try to figure out why (and they succeed in a devastating way).*Zoey and Mira follow Rumi to Celine’s after the idol awards reveal (ch6)*
