It’s not like the world is spilling over with clones, is the thing; especially not genetically stable super-powered hybrid clones with–
Wait, Tucker thinks, and lifts his head to stare blankly at the poster on his bedroom wall. Well, there’s a lot of posters on all of his bedroom walls, admittedly, but a specific poster on a specific wall.
“You’re a genetically stable super-powered hybrid clone,” Tucker says to his poster, still staring at the digitally-rendered face of a teen idol superhero. Superboy continues to grin cockily at him, because he’s a special edition poster and obviously isn’t gonna stop doing that.
Tucker, very slowly, reaches for his phone and types something into Bing after all.

Summary

Waking up on a strange island wasn't on either Danny, Billy, or Jon's agenda that morning. Being considered a candidate for the honor of becoming the most dangerous game was also new, although contrary to Skulker's expectations, they won't be fighting each other to claim it. Now they must work together to escape this deadly island, all without revealing to each other what really qualifies them as the most dangerous prey.

Summary
Tucker’s not gonna let his best friend watch his little sister/daughter/clone destabilize and die or turn into some freaky feral super-monster kaiju of a ghost, alright? He’s gonna figure something out. He’s a tech guy, admittedly, not a biologist or a geneticist or whatever a genetically unstable super-powered hybrid clone actually needs, but–look, he’ll figure it out. He will.
Somebody has to, and he’s the fixer here.

Xie Zheng’s worried gaze lingered on her and the barely touched roasted pheasant meat in her little bowl.
“Why aren’t you eating?”
Changning looked up slowly at the sound of his voice – but still not making any eye contact.
“I’m not hungry,” she mumbled listlessly.
Xie Zheng frowned faintly.
Earlier, before they started the journey after the battle, Gongsun Yin had already warned him that the fright and exhaustion might bring on a fever. At the time, when he handed her the last of Changyu’s tangerine peel candy, she seemed alright – even if her face seemed pale and tired from everything she had endured.
But now she looked worse. Not dramatically so – if someone hadn’t known her, they might have thought that she was just a quiet, well-behaved, shy child, and praised her for her manners.
But to Xie Zheng’s eyes – who spent so much time in the company of his little sister-in-law in more peaceful times in Lin’an – the difference was glaringly obvious.
She was not okay.
And thinking about the reason she wasn’t her usual self, made guilt settle unpleasantly beneath his ribs again.

Damian is her son, which means he is unable to hide the hint of defiance in his gaze, or the the proud upwards tilt of his chin, even as he lies so evenly. He has been disobedient before, but never to such an extreme.
She thinks she might be proud of him. It is not an unfamiliar feeling.
