Max opens his mouth, finds seemingly nothing to say, and closes it.
“And for the record,” George adds, “I don’t know what’s happening. Obviously.”Or: In Singapore, Max and George swap bodies, at the height of their title fight. It’s a nightmare. It’s also... an opportunity. Maybe. If George can figure out how to use it — and if Max doesn't beat him to it.

Goro knows Akira Kurusu is dead, saw his blood spatter against the dark concrete wall in an underground interrogation room. Now Goro has one last job to do, one last mental shutdown. He’s not acting on Shido’s orders this time, only on his own initiative, his own justice.
This Palace’s ruler thinks of all of Tokyo as their own personal hell. While Goro descends through the levels of the inferno, each an eerie reflection of his own sins, a cognitive version of Joker acts as his guide.
With Joker by his side, he finally reaches the monster at the Palace’s center, a fallen angel chained within a frozen lake. But Goro’s not interested in stealing anyone’s heart. This last infiltration is about punishment, for a lifetime of unforgivable sins.

His sword whistles past Goro’s ear, nicking at the delicate skin. Goro grits his teeth, body tense with anticipation. The rain makes it hard to predict where Kurusu’s black sword will strike next.
“Hifumi passed on your greetings,” Akira Kurusu says, fury simmering beneath his conversational tone. “And I’m polite enough to give you my own in person. So greetings, General Goro Akechi. I am the man who will kill you.” Kurusu bares his teeth in a poor imitation of a smile, anger written all over his face, and strikes again.
Or: Goro Akechi and Akira Kurusu are generals on opposing sides of war.

Summary
It's been nearly three years since Goro last stepped foot into Tokyo. Upon waking up from a coma, very much alive and incredibly confused, Goro takes this miracle as a chance to truly change for the better. Whilst the time had not been easy, now Goro finally feels ready to face the man that had all but stolen his heart, and if he was lucky, make amends and start anew.
Nothing can be easy in his trainwreck of a life, it seems. Upon discovering the once illustrious Joker has himself a palace, Goro knows he must band together with the former Phantom Thieves and steal one final heart.

Summary
