Summary
McCoy and Spock have never spoken of their mutual affection. Now McCoy is in a trauma-induced coma, so Spock has taken him to McCoy's former home in Georgia, thinking that the familiar sounds and smells of home might somehow get through to him, to help him feel safe enough to wake up. That isn't what does it, though.

Leonard loses his voice in an accident involving a bush, a puddle, and the Crown Prince of Beloria. Until a cure is found, one of the Prince’s telepathic servants would be sent to follow him around to act as a communicator.
With no other choice but to accept, Leonard finds himself saddled with an annoyingly vocal mind-reader with no concept of secrets.
This wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t saved that damn Prince from falling into that damn puddle.
