And, too, he was able to detect his magical pool shrinking—familiar from when the orb had attacked him, and made his body and soul its home. This gave another layer of horror to the experience.
After that, though, as the pod closed, his awareness went dark—and he feared, when the body next woke up, it wouldn’t be him doing the waking."

Summary
I got inspired by "How Kakashi got Adopted by the Nara" by Voldecourt, and this series is the result. It's how I think things could have gone down afterwards between Shikako and Kakashi.
The premise for this series is that Shikako shadow-bonded to Kakashi to save his life during a mission, disregarding the social consequences that doing so might have on her. This isn't something that could be hidden from her clan, due to it's effects on Shikako and Kakashi's shadows, so Kakashi is honorarily adopted as a Nara. Obligations, expectations, and traditions then all come into play, as Kakashi learns Nara lore and shadow techniques.
I've headcanoned that Voldecourt's fic was preceded by events similar to Tirfarthuan's "Shikako Mindwalks Kakashi" (it's posted over on the Recursive thread pgs 281-283). If you've not read them, I encourage you to do so!

Slowly, I turn to face Astarion.
His eyes are dark. There’s an intensity to his gaze that threatens to weaken my wretched knees again. But beyond that, there’s the unmistakable hint of a question. A search for confirmation. For consent.
He knows what I want. And I trust him.
My nod is subtle, but it’s enough to put that question at ease.

It's been a year since Cazador's death. A year in the Underdark fortress (unnamed) Tav and Astarion share with countless feral vampire spawn. It's not exactly luxurious, and privacy is hard to come by. But Tav has the perfect solution and a way to celebrate the anniversary of the vampire lord's death: a spell that conjures up an extra-dimensional mansion. But the celebration doesn't end even after the gift is given.
A stupidly long oneshot in which Tav and Astarion get spicy in their magic house.
