The happy feeling Zhou Zishu had cultivated in Wen Kexing as soon as Ye Bai Yi left was not enough to keep Wen Kexing’s mind from turning on itself. Zhou Zishu knew he was the Ghost Valley Master.
During all the way back to the manor, Wen Kexing’s thoughts and feelings were in complete chaos. All he could think was *he knows, he knows, he knows, heknowsheknowshekowsheknows*. The words were running around each other in an eternal loop, making Wen Kexing’s anxiety grow uncontrollably.

Summary
Wen Kexing saw it, the moment Zhou Zishu recognized his voice. His entire body stiffened, and then he was whipping his head up to stare at Wen Kexing, eyes wide. With shock, perhaps. Or maybe horror.
Or: Zhou Zishu is captured by Wen Kexing's ghosts, and in order to save him Wen Kexing must pretend he wants him as a bed warmer.

“We’re going home,” Zhou Zishu huffs when he pulls Wen Kexing’s arms over his shoulders, then hitches his legs around his waist. He hops in place to get a good grip under the bends of his knees, then makes sure his robe is covering as much of Wen Kexing as it can. “If you die before we get there, the first thing Shixiong will do when we see each other on Naihe Bridge is hit you.”
