Summary
Ba Sing Se has fallen, and Prince Zuko accompanies his sister home with Iroh in chains. The Spirits are angry with him, sharing their displeasure at his choices as a vicious storm rages and swells around them, sending him off of the ship and into the roiling sea. Zuko drifts listlessly, barely clinging to hope that help will come and he'll be rescued. When another Fire Nation frigate comes into sight, he's filled with a fragile relief, only for it to come crashing down in terror when the soldiers aboard the ship turn out to be water tribesmen in disguise.
Imprisoned by the same people he fought and betrayed in Ba Sing Se, Zuko comes to the cold realization that the one thing he was so close to finally obtaining will never happen. Giving into despair and missing Uncle Iroh, he is faced with the reality of his situation and his future survival, or lack thereof.
(Based on Season 3, Episode 1 The Awakening,)
WARNING:

Summary
When the Gaang finds a lone saddled ostrich horse in a clearing, they follow it with hopes of finding its owner. What they find instead is an injured and unconscious Zuko on the cusp of death. Unable to turn a blind eye to their former enemy when he needs help, they take him in and nurse him back to health, only to discover a startling revelation in regards to how Zuko ended up in this situation.
All is not what it may seem.

When a child is conditioned to believe that abuse is normal, anything slightly different is a crime, an abnormality. The child learns that every action has a hidden agenda, that kindness is a ploy to get the upper hand on them. They learn that any sign of weakness is a cause for punishment. They learn that fear will be their biggest enemy and will be the culprit for their death.
Zuko was lucky to be born, his father's disappointment.

Summary
The last thing Zuko remembers is a blinding blue light, and then nothing.
Zuko has been banished for three years, forced to chase the avatar, however, upon the avatar’s return, Zuko’s mind floods with memories that he shouldn’t have. He needs to find the avatar. But not for the reason everyone thinks.
Or... a time travel fic in which Zuko remembers canon up until the lightning bolt in the final Agni Kai. He gets a chance to start over and hopefully keeps everyone that he cares for safe.
