The man did not raise his face at the sound of footsteps, he was probably asleep - they could see, from his thin shoulders, his deep breathing - and he did not lift it even when shiny black shoes were a few centimeters from his body, it was so thin that a single kick would have ensured the breaking of several bones.
"My only son... What a poor creature they made you become."
Harry's immortality leads him to be the only wizard still alive, no one understands how it is possible and not even the boy in question. He is captured, trapped, and experienced. The tortures he received were so varied, that Muggles began to lack inventiveness and consequently also interest. As long as he was the only magician... What could he possibly do against them? Harry only hoped that he could finally die.
