“There was moaning.”
The words landed behind him like a drop of cold water down his spine. Eddie froze mid-step, shoulders locking tight. The heat crawled up the back of his neck again, mortifying and immediate.
“You were moving,” Venom went on, voice steady, analytical, almost gentle in his matter-of-fact tone. It sounded like he was logging data, as if Eddie’s humiliation was just another entry in some strange, private report.
Eddie exhaled sharply through his nose, the sound halfway between a sigh and a growl, and forced himself to move again. “Vee, I don’t really want to get into this right—”
“And you said my name.”

“Training.” he repeats dryly, the word tired on his tongue. “You got a point to all this or were you just tired of studying?”
“Well, if you’d let me get to it,” Aki huffs, a tinge of irritation colouring his tone. He stands up, shelving his book before plopping himself down across from Shinjiro.
“I wanted to try it.”
Shinjiro’s first thought is quick. Something along the lines of There’s no way he’s serious.
“Good luck finding a partner.” he scoffs, decidedly switching his attention back to the neglected periodical, flipping the page.
Akihiko, however, presses on. His finger reaches into the bending spine of the glossy paper, tipping it down. “Are you saying you're not interested?”
"Me?"
Akihiko hears about an unconventional leg workout. Naturally, he's inclined to try it.

Summary
“I couldn’t sleep.” is all Aki says, rubbing at his arm. Which, really, that was the obvious thing here – it’s past midnight, and it wasn’t like sleep issues were exactly unexpected after the shit they’ve been through. Shinjiro would tell him as much if it wasn’t for the look in Akihiko’s eyes.
“Yeah?” is how Shinjiro chooses to respond, closing the door and leaning back against it.
He rests his head against the hardwood as he decides the taste of the words on his tongue, eyes set on Akihiko from across the room, “And I can help with that how…?”
In which Akihiko is restless, and Shinjiro is a good friend.
