Summary
Thousands of years following the end of the Age of Radiance, a boy is born with the unique ability to remember his past life. Soren, who was long ago a great archsage and beloved husband to the Radiant Hero Ike, yearns to be reunited with him once more. Yet, when their paths finally cross again in a dingy Melior apartment building, Ike has no recollections at all of Soren or the life they shared.
Faced with an ironic echo of his ancient past, Soren must come to terms with the fact that the man he has loved for two lifetimes is nothing more than a stranger living in the unit next door.

Summary
Nervous tension vibrates through Neuvillette. He hums with it, fingers trembling as he stands in his walk-in closet and strips out of his wedding suit. There is no reason for nerves, he tells himself; he and Wriothesley have come together too many times for him to be nervous about that. The truth is that he isn’t nervous about sex with Wriothesley on their wedding night. No, he’s worried about the reception he will have when he emerges dressed in next to nothing, in thin scraps of silk and lace.
On their wedding night, Neuvillette wears lingerie for Wriothesley.

Summary
It was the first winter of his voluntary exile when Neuvillette found the wolf pup. The winds were harsh that week, the snow piling high around the walls of his tiny cottage. The night was dark, no moonlight breaking through the heavy clouds. The faint lights of Merusea village down in the valley were barely visible through the heavy snowfall.
In the weather like this, the dragon found himself with nothing to do but sit by the hearth with a book in his lap, confined to this meager human dwelling. It was then, as the winds rattled the glass inside the window frames, a faint, pain filled howl disturbed his near-slumber.
Neuvillette, a humble exile, saves a tiny wolf pup in the woods one fateful night. One thing leads to another, and years later he finds himself pen pals with the feared Duke of Meropide.

365 days
365 days until the prophecy was fulfilled. Then, the king of Fontaine would lose his sovereign authority, passing it to his son, Prince Neuvillette. With the prophecy came a challenge proposed by the king... a tradition among the sovereigns. Whoever could wield the ancient sovereign king Scylla's pole arm would be able to become the prince's mate and rule with him.
But Neuvillette wanted none of it. He yearned for freedom, to be floating among the sea and simply be himself. Not a ruler, not a diplomat, not king Azureous. Simply... Neuvillette.
Unable to control the urge to escape his fate, he sneaks out of the castle late one night and finds himself in the lower court of Fontaine. The warmth drew him in. Here he felt safe, even in disguise. In a hole in the wall tavern, he meets a handsome rugged man introduced to him as Wriothesley. The prince isn't sure how or why... maybe something in those chilly blue eyes or his lopsided grin, but this man becomes all Neuvillette can think about. Like he is the catalyst to a life he can only dream of having.
The lower court of Fontaine holds many secrets. They hold wisdom, dreams and can push a man to do the most unbelievable things.

Summary
The coastal village they’d been staying in for the past two days had seemed peaceful at first.
They’d gone unrecognised for a while – they wouldn’t have stayed this long, otherwise – until the innkeeper's daughter had taken an interest in them. She had an unusually sharp mind for her age, which meant she didn't quite believe their story about being regular mercenaries.
It had all been quite harmless so far, really. She’d been trying to get her hands on any information she could get, and Soren had shut her down every time before Ike had even gotten the chance to come up with a believable answer. It was amusing, if anything. There was nothing wrong with a healthy dose of curiosity, and they would be gone long before she got the opportunity to find out who they really were anyway.
Except then things became a little less harmless, because she’d apparently slipped some kind of truth potion into Soren’s breakfast. As if it wasn’t hard enough to get Soren to eat on a normal day already.
---
Or: The local innkeeper's daughter tries to pry cool war stories from two suspicious mercenaries by slipping one of them a truth potion. Instead, she accidentally helps them have a heart-to-heart.
