Summary
Grace kept running, using frantic energy he had never felt before. He was sure if he just ran long enough, he would escape.
Suddenly the trees ended and he was running through a meadow. The ground flattened and Grace ran faster, each breath burning in his throat as he chased his freedom.
Something hit his back. He fell to the ground, the shock of it bringing tears to his eyes.
Hands grabbed his arms, yanking them behind him. He twisted, crying out as he tried to get free, but he was no match for the weight pinning him down.
He twisted his head to look up as Simon pulled a needle out of his pocket, pulling the cap off with his teeth and spitting it to the side. His gaze was cold, determined.
“Please,” Grace begged. “Please, don’t do this Simon!”
“I’m sorry,” the man said. “I have to.”
He plunged the needle into Grace’s neck.
In other words, Simon learns that Grace is getting sent on the Hail Mary and he makes the most selfish decision possible: saving Grace himself.

Summary
Will tries to make himself easier to love.
He smiles when he wants to disappear, answers when every question hurts, and reaches for Hannibal at the end of the night because he thinks he has finally earned comfort.
Hannibal sees everything except the truth.
He punishes Will for the very thing Will had done for him, and by the time Will manages to safeword, he is already nonverbal, panicked, and breaking under Hannibal’s hands.

There is a difference between finding peace and becoming dependent on it.
Will doesn't realize he's crossed that line until everyone else seems intent on taking it away from him.
Hannibal, however, has no intention of letting him go.

Ryland Grace is fired from his job and can’t stand to find another purpose in life, so he decides enough is enough and ends it. Simon isn’t so keen on letting this human go.
