As soon as it lit, Mel turned away and hacked the taste out of her mouth. When she turned back around, Sevika could tell she was trying to settle back into her controlled relaxation. As Mel took a second puff, she turned away to hide the cough as she blew the smoke out. The smell caught on the breeze. Sevika liked the idea of that scent on the wealthy, vixen form of Mel Medarda. Bitch was already too golden. Let Sevika rough her up a bit.
Mel considered the fag between her fingers. "Does everyone smoke this or just you?"
Sevika chuckled and leaned in close just to see what Mel would do. In her dark and glinting ear, Sevika muttered, "That's the good stuff."
Mel needs a marriage. Sevika needs resources. They talk it over during a smoke break.

"See anything interesting, toots?" Nav inhaled a puff, her golden eyes catching the lights from the main street. Backstage, she was good-natured, friendly, liked to lean in close and linger. Shadow hit her different in the back alley. Here, she was menacing; Harrow couldn't help but like that. Unlike most other performers, Harrow liked it when Nav leaned in close. It inspired her.
"Hard to say," Harrow said. "My memory can be selective if—"
"If?" Hect's hands were loose at her sides.
"If you teach me how to be funny," Harrow finished.
