Summary
The sound of Rengoku Kyojurou falling was something that Giyuu would never forget. Even as he fought Upper Rank Three, he was still horribly aware of the body by the train tracks, unmoving and shrouded in a blood stained haori. How could a spirit as strong and bright as the irrepressible flame hashira ever be extinguished?
(Or, Giyuu arrives in time to save the man who has occupied the thoughts of all his days and nights ever since their first mission together two years prior. And although the road to recovery won't be easy for Kyojurou, at least he won't be alone.)

'No one likes me...?'
"...I'm not disliked by others." He heard himself say, without even thinking. Perhaps it was the human instinct of self preservation that had fed the words to his mouth. Though, his eyes took in Shinobu's pitiful smile.
'No one....likes me...'
That revelation came with a sense of...emptiness.
