Summary
There are several things that the dwarves don't know about the hobbit that is traveling with them. Things that Bilbo is glad to let them find out for themselves along the way.
The first is that he's prepared for anything. His mother used to quiz him about what he'd do in any situation - from relatives to trolls - and Bilbo never disappointed her with his answers. Riding a pony all day gives him plenty of time to plan for everything.
The second is that he can throw a stone or any other small object hard enough to embed it several inches into a tree trunk. His accuracy is uncanny even by Shire standards. He's quite proud of it.
The third is that he doesn't actually say so many proverbs when at home but it seems to annoy the dwarves so he spends time thinking up all the ones he's heard before.
And last, hobbits scold like it is no one's business. The Dwarves he's traveling with really have no idea what will happen if they truly piss him off.

What could his bandmate possibly be hiding from the rest of them? Waiting for a day when Jae would be gone because of his schedules, Yunho snagged the precious laptop to investigate. What he found blew his mind.

After months of longing looks and wishful sighs, Bofur had had enough. He knew. He knew that Bilbo and Thorin liked each other. He was pretty sure everyone in the office knew except for Bilbo and Thorin. And honestly, he was doing everyone a public service by taking on the task of getting them to talk. Their behavior was ridiculous and downright pitiful. The holidays were coming. It was a time of cheer not angst, which was all those two pushed on everyone anytime they were near each other.
And the holidays were the perfect excuse that he needed to put his plan into motion. If a chance was all they needed to get together then Bofur was going to make sure they got as many as possible.

Vana knew even as she found her harmony that she alone would not be able to handle the task assigned to her. Eru, when she went to him, understood how important her duty was and agreed to give her help. The hobbits were created to aid their Lady.
They took after her in many ways, fair and beautiful yet diligent in their tending of the flowers their Lady so adored. There were many throughout Middle Earth who did not understand the task Vana had. They dismissed her care of flowers and her beauty as being frivolous. They did not want to and could not understand what Vana’s true endeavor was.
Over the years, hobbits began to forget, too. They still cared for their flowers and loved each and every one they discovered. They shared the living blooms on their arms with their loved ones and grew set in their ways. Until a wizard showed up at a garden gate and disturbed their peace.

“This is beyond my ability to fix, Gandalf,” Bilbo said as he paced through the library. He ran his hand through his hair as he pinched his phone between his ear and his shoulder. “I can clean and paint and refurbish, but I can’t work miracles."
“My dear, Bilbo,” Gandalf said in that soothing tone he often used, “You’re doing a wonderful job there at the castle. But it’s a large place. Haven’t I told you that you can hire more help?”
Bilbo grimaced at the thought of having more people ruining his hard work. The passage of time was bad enough. “We’ve been over this. The last girl that I hired tried to make off with the spoons. I’m perfectly okay with doing the upkeep myself. But I can’t do anything with metal beyond clean it.”
“Then find someone who can,” Gandalf said as if it was the simplest thing in the world. “Surely there are still people whose profession is to work with metals.”
“You want me to find some sort of iron worker?” Bilbo asked skeptically.
Or the one where Bilbo is the caretaker of an estate and Thorin is the blacksmith he hires to help him with repairs.

Banished from their home, the dwarves wander the lands, searching for a safe place to make their own. The only land they were banned entry from was the Shire for none who are not Shire folk may enter the old forest.
Thorin, a desolate prince trying to make enough to care for his family, was not about to enter the Shire. He was simply going to collect firewood at the edge of the trees. He was not about to go in. He wouldn’t dare.
