“I can’t wait to slip my cock into you later,” Greg growls into his ear, making all the hair stand up on the back of Alex’s neck.
Despite the dark of the room and the noise and the crush of other people around them, Alex knows they’re not invisible. He casts a nervous look around to see if any of their friends are paying them any undue attention, to see if his wife is.
“Shhh,” Alex hisses, feeling the crawl of anxiety up his spine at the thought of being discovered like this, being discovered for real in a way that he can’t just ha ha comedy his way out of.

Daniel had somehow just assumed that the whole world-falling-away-thing was the one thing that was specific to his bond with Armand. Had assumed that the other weird shit was just run-of-the-mill maker-fledgling stuff.
But you know what they say about assumptions – they make an ass out of U and... Well, they’d mostly led to Daniel making an ass out of himself in front of every other vampire he encountered, really.
In which Daniel assumes all the weird shit he’s experiencing regarding Armand are perfectly normal maker-fledgling bond things, and it’s up to everyone else to disabuse him of that notion.
